Capsicum Gojju
Capsicum Gojju Recipes
Ingredients
green peppers (capsicum) - 2 - finely chopped
coconut milk - 1/2 cup
tamarind - 1/2 tsp
dhaniya (coriander seeds) - 1 tsp
black pepper corns - 1/2 tsp
jeera - 1/2 tsp
red chillies - 3 to 4
fenugreek - 1/4 tsp
asafoetida - a pinch
turmeric - a pinch
mustard - 1/2 tsp
oil - 1 tablespoon
salt - to taste
Method
Heat a kadai and fry the coriander seeds, black pepper corns, jeera,
red chillies.
Grind these ingredients to a fine powder. (This can be also stored
in an air tight container)
Heat oil in the kadai and put in the mustard seeds. Add the asefoetida
and turmeric
Then add the chopped capsicums and fry until tender.
Add coconut milk and tamarind. You can also add water if needed
Heat the mixture on slow fire until the capsicums are cooked.
Now add the ground masala, salt and bring the mixture to boil.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with rice
